In the process of creating a trip report, I go frequently to the view/edit screen. When I tried to open it the last time, I got the prompt  'runtime error 13  type mismatch' and it closes me out entirely.  I need this feature to be accessable.  Help.

Also, the next question is:  When I create a trip, in the add or edit field there is a field for comments on the trip.  However, these don't appear until the end of the report on the last line.  How can I change it so that the trip comment appears in the beginning of the report before the listings?

You must be running VISTA. The fix for this is

1. Click the Windows START button in the lower left corner
2. In the Search box, type "regedit"; the registry editor will appear
3. Browse to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Birders Diary\Settings" on the left hand side
4. On the right hand side, select and delete all Names that start with "frmSightingsViewFilter2..."

That will fix your RTE.

Concerning Trip comments - you cannot change the output location on the reports. Very sorry.
