Hi Jeff. Today, on trying to enter the View/Edit screen I get a Runtime Error 13, Type Mismatch. This has  continued, even after restarting the computer, so I am unable to  enter this screen at all. I run Vista. Hope you can help.

This problem is encountered a lot on Vista - only on Vista.

You need to use the Registry Editor and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Birders Diary\Settings  - and delete all of the "frmSightingsViewFilter2*" keys.

1. In Vista, click the START button and type "regedit" into the Search field. This will bring up the Registry Editor
2. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Birders Diary\Settings 
3. On the right hand side, select all key names that start with "frmSightingsViewFilter2" and press the DELETE key. This will delete them.
4. Restart Diary and the problem should be resolved.

Yes - except in Step #3, it is frmSightingsEntrySetup... as well as

• EntryMoreLess
• EntrySetupMoreLess

Delete all those.

Have got the same problem as Wayne (3rd time this has happened) did the deleting of 'sightingsentrysetup' etc but I think I deleted too much.How do I reset to do a new delete,if you know what I mean

You cannot delete too much. There is no problem if you delete more than just "sightingsentrysetup...".

Is everything working now?

Very odd. Please go to the registry section HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Birders Diary\Settings as per before, but now delete all keys on the right hand side under this directory in the Registry Editor. Then restart Diary.

This should clear it up without any downside other than forgetting where your windows used to come up, etc.
