I promised Jeff a while back that I'd work on assembling a list of FAQ's about the ins and outs of installing BD on a Macintosh. For that, I'll need to draw on the experience of the BD community.

If you're using BD on a Macintosh (in ANY way, shape or form), please let me know what configuration you're using (hardware, OS version, Bootcamp vs. Parallels vs. Other, etc.). I'll be particularly interested in any issues you ran into while trying to install BD or get it up and running.

If you attempted to get BD running on a Macintosh and gave up, I'd also be interested in knowing what problems you encountered. Hopefully I can turn this into a reference guide for Mac users.

Let me be the first to chime in. I have done two installs on customer MAC systems (I don't remember the kind of MAC - I am a bit MAC-ignorant). They were running Parallels and I was able to gain access to their system with my Desktop Sharing tool and install BD just as if it were a standard Windows XP PC. I simply could not tell the difference.

So, as far as I could tell, depending on the hardware and the fact that they were running Parallels emulation software - there are no issues to be expected. I can even get onto their system using my Desktop sharing tool which I really didn't expect to work.

Hi Jeff --- My Mac question is regarding switching from PC to Mac. Is my BD data transferrable or do I have to start all over? I'm still debating the switch, so any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
