Hi...I read in an old posting by Jeff, "I would never use date/time or observer in the Trip report."  Actually...I would like to be able to produce a trip report for a particular observer (because Robert saw more birds in Peru than I did :-).  If I can't do that, it would be nice to be able to print out the sightings report such that it would include the trip notes provided you specified a trip in the report setup.   Then I could have my dates and comments in the sightings report, and also have the boilerplate trip notes that has the details of where we were each day.  Is that possible?

BTW we are big Birder's Diary fans, this is a really cool program.

Oh, never mind...I wasn't seeing the trip notes in the sightings report earlier, but there they are.  I can get what I need out of the sightings reports with some customization.  Sorry!

Hi Liz,

Robert saw more birds eh? Probably because he was the only one that stayed awake on those cool and refreshing river boat rides.

The trip report is meant to give you a list of unique species for a trip or date range across observers and locations. However, you can add Observer to the output columns, sort and group by that column (move it to the top of the list) and the Trip report will produce the desired output. Including the trip notes. That way you will get a list of unique species per observer.

You can also get the same data by using the Life List TAB and specifying the dates/location of Peru.

But, if you are after all sightings records, then the Sightings TAB is what you want.

Let me know if I can assist further.

Jeff

p.s. I have finally worked my way through the 2000+ pics taken in Peru and will get a DVD out soon. Now the problem is that all of them will not fit on one DVD.
