I have BD 3.6 with all updates, ABA 2006 Tax and ABA Bird Checklist, two sighting of Sooty Grouse and one for Dusky Grouse, neither show up on ABA life list and no Blue Grouse.

I checked forum for solutions and did not find a solution.

Help would be appreciated.

Hello Harry,

The Blue Grouse split occurred in the ABA 2006 tax list. It will not be in your "ABA Bird Checklist" version. So, you must use the 2006 version or later to enter, edit and view/report on sooty and/or dusky grouse observations.

Do this...

1. Click on the View/Edit toolbar button
2. Click the reset button to clear all settings
3. Type Blue Grouse into the Name field
4. Check the Checkbox to the right of the Name field (see screen shot below); this selects all things under that level as well - e.g. dusky and sooty grouse
5. Select only the ABA 2006 tax list from the list on the right.
6. For the Primary Sort, select Location; this will help you to edit sightings of Blue Grouse based on their location.
7. Click Continue

Now you will see all of your Blue/Dusky/Sooty Grouse sightings. You should edit your Blue Grouse sightings and assign them to either Dusky or Sooty.

Be sure to use the ABA 2006 tax list for all reports and data entry, etc.
