I recently purchased a new laptop which uses windows 7.0, and loaded my original Birders Diary 2.5 disk, which was originally purchased in November,1998. When I select either birdsearch/birdsearch or sightings/sightings from the startup window, I get the following error message:
Permission denied(#70) occurred in "frmBirdSeaqrch2.form_Activate"

All other features seem to be working. Any help available?

Hello Len,

Version 2.5 will not work on Vista nor Windows 7 unfortunately. The price for the ever advancing technology in computerland.

The option is to upgrade to the latest version - v3.6. You can read all about the upgrade on this web site, on the page Product Info => Upgrading from 2.x or 3.0.
