Help!  I just purchased and installed the update to 3.6 from my old version of 3.0.2.  I need help in copying database, etc from that to this.  It seems to have done it. However, some data was not transferred such as a 2008 trip to Thailand.  I need help in doing this transfer of data properly.

Hello Stephen,

The database contains everything for BD. All sightings, trips, observers, etc.So, if you can see the 2008 trip to Thailand in v3.0, copy the database correctly and open it in v3.6, you should see the trip in v3.6 also. There is no way to copy only part of the data.

Did you see the instructions on this web site on the page Product Info >> Upgrading from 2.x or 3.0? It has copy instructions under the v3.0 section.

Did you use Windows Explorer to copy the file? Can you verify that you see the 2008 trip in v3.0?

I can jump on your system and help you out - but I will be out of he office all day today - back tomorrow. If you would like for me to do this - just let me know and we will setup a time tomorrow. Should only take me a couple seconds to get it going for you.

Jeff

No. Didn't do that.  If you could do it, that would be good.   In case I mes something up.

Anytime before 11:00am EST or after 3:00pm would be fine.

I did ad the trip to belize and listed only the new species.  Maybe I should add the species I've seen elsewhere for a full report. Though if I did that, would they then be listed twice in the database?

Hi Stephen,

I am here and able to do this in the next 10 minutes. Otherwise tomorrow. I sent you email about 15 minutes ago.

I don't understand what you are saying in the last paragraph. I wouldn't add anything as it is possible you are just overlooking data/trips that are already there and thereby duplicating the data.
