Subject: How Do We Unsubscribe from Forum Updates?

Sorry to ask such a basic question, but how do I go about unsubcribing from getting emails showing each new forum post? Recently I have been getting too many of these emails.  I have checked my account profile and did not see any way there to unsubscribe.  I went through each forum to make sure that the statements "Email me with Updates to this forum" and also that "Email me with updates to this thread" were unchecked.  I also did searches in each forum and there were no helpful results.  Thank you.

Hi Terri,

Subscriptions to posts or forums are never created by anyone other than yourself. You probably knew that, but I thought worth mentioning.

You can manage all of these subscriptions by clicking on the "My Profile" link near the top of the forums page next to the "Search" link.

After clicking on the "My Profile" link, you will be presented with a page with 4 TABS. Select the TAB that says "Subscriptions".

On that TAB, you can delete each of your subscriptions by clicking the "X" on the right of each.

That should do it. Have a good day.

Thanks Jeff. Actually I had already done that.  I went to 'My Profile' within the Forum section.  I checked the tab "Subscriptions" and nothing was listed under either "Threads I am tracking" or "Forums I am tracking".   Of course, there is now one thread I am tracking and that is this very one.   Anything else?

I just checked and indeed you are only subscribed to this thread.

Are you getting other emails from birdersdiary.com? If so, pick one and tell me what it is about please. Then I can go about troubleshooting that for you.

Right. Since you are subscribed to this thread, you should receive exactly ONE email every time it is updated. Are you experiencing something different?

I am getting only one email every time some threads are updated. Luckily I was able to pull up some of the forum emails using my iphone. I have been getting all the updates, a total of 22 emails, to the following threads over the past 2 days:

Jan 31: Re: Run-time error '13'
Jan 30: Upgrade error
Jan 30: Reconciling AOU 2010 and 2011
Jan 30: Re: Trouble with activations and moving from 3.6 to 3.7
Jan 30: Re: Error in UpgradeForTripReports!
Jan 30: Re: Two issues with new upgrade
Jan 30: Re: Error 26

Of course I have received more than this, but this is all I can find.

Good - so it appears that you have none since updating your profile yesterday. Keep a check and let me know if any more show up, other than for this thread.

Jeff, unfortunately, they never stopped coming.  I am still getting about 20 forum updates daily.  They all are coming from the Technical Support forum.  I am not 'subscribed' to any forum or thread other than this one. Any other ideas?

Hi Terri,

Well - I'll be darned. When you first posted, I looked for subscriptions for this username you are using - "thurley001".

It didn't occur to me to go look to see if you had created other users on this site. And you had. Those two other users were subscribed to forum posts with the same email. I have deleted those other users that were created. This should take care of it. But, it is always possible that just deleting the user does not get rid of the subscription. So let me know if you continue to get the updates.

Thank you so very much for hunting down other user accounts I must have created in the past. I have not gotten any updates today so it is working.
