hi,I'm running BD v3.6 on vista,I go to add,sightings-entry.checklist entry (location)brazil.(show)subspecies.(sort)taxonomically.(stile)checklist.(taxonomies)clements world 2009.  my screen setup is a small box where a pencil appears while checking,next a wide box for bird name,another wide box with scientific name,next small box for clicking seen,small box for min count,small box for max count,and long box for comments.I click on seen box get tick plus 1 in min and 1 in max count.I tab over to min count click on 2 and 1 changes to 21 instead of 2.then I tab max click on 2 and get 221 then tab over to comments and most of screen disappears leaving only name and comments.I can type in comments then have to go to bottom of list and click on left arrow (horizontal scrol bar)to bring all my screen back.there is also a double line between name and scientific name which you can move,not sure if I moved this in my mucking about.regards jim.

That double line between name and scientific name is a split-view line. It has caused some confusions amongst other users. When you scroll to the right, anything left of that line will not scroll. In this case, it keeps the Name field always visible even when you scroll right to see additional fields. You can move this split-view line by clicking it and dragging it.

I also don't like how you have to use the scroll-bar at the botom to get the other fields back into view. This is functionality that is part of the 3rd party control in use there. I don't know any way around it. I either size the window so that it shows all fields by default or shrink some fields (e.g. comments) so that all fields will fit in your available space.

The issue with the Min and Max fields happens randomly and doesn't seem to repeat across uses. You can generally correct this by being sure to clear each field first before typing into it (using the Delete key or the Backspace key).

hi Jeff,thanks for the fast reply.I have done what you said and reduced fields.I shortened name,scientific name and comments fields.This has caused the horizontal scroll bar to dissapear and everything is working properly including min and max count with the tab key.Thank you very much for your help.And Happy New Year,jim
