Thanks for clarifying Mark.

I just entered sightings (using Clements 6.5) for all three P. elegans mentioned above. Then in View Sightings Setup, I specified Clements 6.5 and Platycercus elegans, and checked the checkbox to the right and got all three sightings.

Check to make sure that you are using Clements 6.5 and that no other filters that may affect this are being specified on the Setup screen please.

Hi Jeff,

I was using Clements 2010 v6.5.  When I was updating the sightings using the compare and split wizard I checked each change in View/Edit to make sure that it entered correctly.  This gave me lots of practice in making sure I was on the correct taxonomy.

The only difference in my View Sightings Setup is Sort Primary is Date Desc and Secondary is Taxonomic Asc.

Before I sent my last post yesterday I verified that Adelaide Rosella did not display using both the Name Crimson Rosella and Platycercus elegans.  I just tried it again and Adelaide Rosella now displays correctly using both common and scientific names for Crimson Rosella. 

I have not changed any settings and Birder's Diary was open with the computer on standby overnight (in Windows XP).  I have no idea why it did not work yesterday but it is working today.

Glad to hear it Mark. So - if I understand correctly - this is no longer happening.

Also, fixed the Language Region Name Editor issue you found above. It will be in build 23 or later when released. That one has been around for a while and no one has found it.

I just double checked.  I closed Birder's Diary and reopened and the problem has apparently gone away. 

Do you have a time line on Build 23?

I am downloading it now.

I am still wondering why Adelaide Rosella did not show up one day but it did the next. 

The one other thing that I did the first day (after I sent the post with the problem) was look at the other advanced features to see if anything was different.  When I opened Taxonomy Editor it came up with a box "Recomended: Rebuild Sort Order Now" and I clicked Yes.  Might this have fixed the problem with Adelaide Rosella not showing?

By the way, it still asks me to rebuild sort order every time I open the Taxonomy Editor (even if I say Yes every time).

I don't see how the sort order rebuild would affect Adelaide Rosella.

And yes, it will ask everytime you open the tax editor.
