HI Jean,

The only thing you need to do to avoid this error (which is non-destructive and does not result in any loss of data - you just have to restart BD) is ... if you close your Sightings Entry window, be sure to also close your Locations window if open. Then the problem will not occur.

Anything else doesn't affect this; e.g. whether you TAB or mouse click, etc.

Jeff

I believe that you need to close the Locations window BEFORE you close the Entry window.

I closed Locations after the Entry window on the attempt when I finally documented the process to cause the RTE.

And Jean, you asked about the thinking and process - my method is simple brute-force.  Just do what you think might cause the error.  When it occurs, document what you were doing.  Try it again, and when it breaks again, fine tune the documentation. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

At some point, when you can reproduce the error every time, it can be fixed.

Fortunately, last night Jeff took over the "repeat" part of it, since I was getting a little tired of staring at the screen.

Regards,
Steve
