Hi Mark,

The password for the ZIP files is the same for the taxonomic download as it is for the checklist version of the download.

Let me know if this doesn't do it for you.

Hello Mark,

That is not the password to unZIP the ZIP files.

Check out the FAQ on the Downloads page for how to retrieve your ZIP file password.

You must logon to the Online Store and view your invoice. The password is at the bottom of each licensed item and marked as the ZIP password.

Hi Jeff,

In looking at previous invoices I can see the codes you mention. However for Clements 2005 there is the discount code MARKRILEY but no paaswords at the bottom. Please check invoive 1686965. I have tried my clements password for 2004 but this does not work.

Mark,

You MUST logon to the online store to view your invoices. These passwords have been added after the fact. Viewing your old e-Mail copy of your invoice will NOT show your passwords.

View each invoice individually. I just logged on as you and clicked on the View/Print link (see picture below) and there is the password.

To log on to the Online Store, click on the menu on this web site for Purchase > Logon to Online Store.

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Sorry, i had wrongly assumed that I could use the originals. Thanks for your patience.

Question? When I view checklists for Western Pal. using clements 2005 tax it only shows 557 things. Yet the sum of it's parts ie Israel,UK etc often show more things. I would of thought that the programme would show a checklist of all things drawing from the individual areas within the western pal. Am I misunderstanding something?

Hi Mark,

It does draw from the individual areas. To truly answer your question, I would need to know exactly what you are doing to produce the numbers you are talking about. Let me know and I am sure we can clear it up.

Hi Jeff,

Go to checklists, under taxonomy enter clements 2005. Under location checklist enter Western pal. I have 597 things. Change Western Pal to Uk and I have 900 things.

Hi Mark,

Oh, in the case of the Checklist Editor, you want to be able to just work with those things sighted there.

Everything else automatically rolls-up from descendant locations. e.g. Reports, View/Edit, etc. If you did a checklist report for West. Palearctic and then one for UK, you would see that WP is larger.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

I think I have got to the bottom of this. When I download the clements checklist my computer tells me that the file is to large. Am I alone with this problem. When I try to import into birders diary it cannot complete.

Mark

Hi Mark,

What browser are you using to download the file?
Are you downloading the Clements Tax List or Clements Checklist file? (I know you said checklist, but some folks tend to interchange those two terms.)
What is the exact error you get?
Are you clicking on the "Download" link or the "Name" link?
Does it ask you save or open? You should choose Save.

Give me all the details you can think of please.
If you downloaded a partial ZIP file, then you should not be able to unzip it as it would report as corrupt.

Hi Jeff,

in reply:

I have downloaded the World Clements 2006 Checklist. Not tax list.

On my lap top I got a bad error report. On my new desk top it gave the previous info supplied.

I was able to open using the code supplied.

When importing everything seemed to go fine, although it took appox one hour. At that point it froze while importing. It could not complete.

I am saving the zip file, then using the code to open, but it does not seem complete.

Hi Mark,

It will run for about 1-2 hours for the first pass, then freeze while it massages the data for about 30 minutes to an hour, then it will start the second pass; which may take another hour. Please let it run to completion under those circumstances. If it didn't complain about unZIPing the file, then the file is Ok.
The times I give above are for a system with a 2GHz processor and 1G of memory. Your times will vary based on those two parameters.

Let me know please.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks, got it.

Problem, when I run a checklist, under reports, for the UK, using Clements 2005 tax ,I now get over 2500 things. It seems that species are right, hoever all the sub species under Clements are included. This produces over 2500 things, there should be just over 900.

Similar problem with Morocco, is it possible that the checklist was corrupted during downloading. I did have an indication that it was incomplete.

Regards

Mark
