I installed a new hard drive on my computer and I copies all my files
from the old hard drive onto the new one. All my old
programs work fine except for Birders diary.. I get the Run time error
429. Active X component can;t create an object. What do I
need to do to get it working again

Jeff is off on holiday, so he may not answer for a couple days.
Until he can answer, I would recommend that you re-download and re-install Birder's Diary. Some component may have lost its way in the transfer to the new disk, and a re-install will usually fix the problem.
Please let us know if that fixes the problem.
