I have an "advanced user license", "world edition" version 3.5.56 of Birders Diary. The CD case includes the license ID and password for Clements 2005 'Birds of the world'. But when I tried to use the Clements World 2005 taxonomy to enter some sightings from a recent trip to Europe, I got a popup box saying that this taxonomic list was not licensed, and giving me an option to go to theonline store to purchase it. There was no option to enter my existing license information. When I found the 'license information' popup dialog box, the Clements list was not one of the available items. How do I proceed?

Hi Jeff- The instructions on the web page only took me to the point I described in the original post. I tried downloading the Clements list and importing it, but it wouldn't let me do that because that name was already in use. The solution was to click on one of the existing items in the list (in this case the 'advanced user license') and to enter the license ID and password for the Clements tax list. This worked fine. Perhaps you should add a default item of 'other' to this list so that users have a more natural way of sidestepping this issue. --Jeff

Hi Jeff, Again, sorry for the confusion. Many users have had the same issue. In an effort to help others out, the section I pointed you to on the Instructional page was just this: Unlock the Taxonomic List in Birder's Diary Select "Help \| License Information" Click the "Unlock Now" button Enter your License ID and Password Click the "OK" button You were not to attempt to download or import again. And, clicking on an item in the "Licensed Features" listbox does nothing. This seems to trip most folks up. So I have re-labeled that box with, hopefully, a more descriptive label for v3.6. The key, which you found, was to simply do the instructions above. Clicking on the Unlock Now button works whether something is selected in the "Licensed Features" listbox or not. Jeff
