Dear all,

Judging by the number of posts relating to version 3.6 several of you have had more success than I have.  But when I try to buy the programme I reach as far as "Confirm New Order" without any problems but the "Next" button takes me to the standard "This page cannot be found" screen that we all know and love.  Is this just a temporary blip?

Hi Graham,

Are you still having trouble with this? I have had NO reports of anyone with any such trouble.

If so, please lead me through your entire process (naming each page you encounter) starting with the main Online Store page on this site.

If need be, I can get onto your system and have a look.

Hi Jeff,

The same problem today, I'm afraid, so here goes:-

Items in your Shopping Cart (Check Out)
Edit your customer information (Next)
Review Purchase - Choose a Payment Method - Credit Card (Next)
Enter your credit card details (Next)
Confirm Order Details (Next)
The page cannot be found

The address to which I'm being directed after the above sequence is https://secure.softwarekey.com/solo/products/b1_newordprocessloading.asp and the news that the page cannot be found appears immediately.

Any thoughts?  If not and the time difference allows it, you're welcome to watch my system while I'm playing.

I am having a similar problem. I can get to the checkout tab but the checkout tab is greyed out and I am unable to check out at all.

This has been happening for 3 days with no success. I have put in a ll the information required including the discount information.

I am trying to go from my 3.5 advanced to 3.6 advanced.

Please set me straight.

Hi Werner and Graham,

I need to see this for myself on your systems before I can report it to the company that manages that site for me.

So, please send email (jeff@birdersdiary.com) to me today when you are at your computer. Send a phone number that I can contact you at. Then, when we are ready, you will be running the "Desktop Sharing Tool" at the bottom of this page to give me access to your system.

I will await your contact.

Ok - Werner had created multiple accounts at the Online Store and was not logging into the account which had purchased the 3.5 license. Therefore, he could not purchase the upgrade to 3.6 license from 3.5 if the store could not confirm he had the 3.5 license.

Once we got him into the correct account at the Online Store - all was ok.

Thanks Jeff. I got the account and purchase confirmations ok. Check out the adding of the disk as charges $0.00.

I'm in the process of downloading the program but even with my dsl connection I'm getting a speed of 36 k/s instead of my usual 220 and above.

Talk to you later after I install this over 3.5. I'm also going to get the clements 2005 since that seems to be the best worldwide tax list.

Hi Jeff,

Good to hear Werner's problem was easily addressed. Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday evening (for me): family emergency and I couldn't find time to play at the computer. I guess you're not in at the weekend so let's shoot for Monday evening (my time, which is about six hours ahead of you). I hope to be able to talk from about 9 pm, which must be mid-afternoon where you are.

I'll log on to the BD page and check whether you're online but if you could suggest a convenient time for us to chat it would help.

Well, here I am. I've downloaded the utility that enables you to see what I'm doing. Are you around at the moment? Or would tomorrow evening (about this time, i.e. 9:30 p.m. Central European Time) be better for you?

It would be best if we can setup a time. I am on Mountain Daylight Time here in the states. "GMT -07", are you "GMT +01"? Just pick a time and I will be here for that time.

Good idea! How about trying for 12:15 your time (i.e. in 25 minutes from now)? If that doesn't work, an hour later? Or another hour? I'll start the Desktop Sharing Utility at each of these times but how will I know whether you're there?

Hi Jeff,

Well, that was a lot of fun - I thought the Desktop Sharing utility was great. I've had the problem you saw with several different credit cards and have checked the numbers carefully each time ...

If you manage to come up with a solution, please let me know. Otherwise, is there any other way I can pay you for the upgrade?

Off to bed now - it's 11 p.m. here and I have to be up early tomorrow.

I have been working with Tech Support for the Online Store since yesterday. They cannot find a reason for your problem. They think it must be your browser or your system.

I can complete the order for you, but will need your Credit Card #, CVV2 and expiration date.
