I was birding in VT this afternoon and when I went to add my sightings and selected Vermont as a location filter, BD told me there are no things associated with this locatioon.  I tried again using a random sampling of other states, and got checklist that looked appropriate for those states.  Where is VT?

Also, the same message appears when I tried to bring up dragonflies for MA.  Is it the same solution?

Hi Mark,

Interesting. But easy to solve once we figure out what is really wrong. The symptoms indicate that the checklist records for VT (for at least birds) and MA (for at least dragonflies) have been removed. This can be easily solved by reperforming the checklist data imports for ABA-birds and NA-dragonflies. The instructions can be found on this site on the "Downloads::Tax List Instructions" page. Let me know if you need assistance with this. Use the settings in the screen shot below (once for ABA and once for Dragonflies).

Is it possible that you were recently playing with the Checklist editor and accidentally removed these records?

Jeff

That didn't work, and neither did the instructions you gave Jim yesterday for his problem, which sounded similar to mine.

When I upgraded to 3.6 and purchased these other lists I also purchased the professional installation.  When do you want to do it?

Hi Mark,

Your purchase was in February, 2007. Did I never do an install for you? I really don't see any indication that I did. In that case, I will get onto your system and take care of everything.

What type of internet connection do you have? (e.g. dialup, DSL, Cable, etc)
What version of Windows are you running? (e.g. XP, 2000, Vista, etc)

Would tomorrow morning about 8:30am MDT work for you to let me onto your system? Then I will need approx 2 hours to complete the upgrade.

Let me know,
Jeff

I have a DSL connection and am running Windows XP.

I am going to be away tomorrow until noon EDT which I guess is 10:00 MDT.  Any time after that I can do.

Hi Mark,

After 10am MDT will be fine. Please send email to jeff@birdersdiary.com when you get in and I will reply with instructions for letting me onto your system to complete the installation.

Til then,

Follow-up:

Got onto Mark's system and completed the 3.6 upgrade. The problem was that the checklist import file had not been imported. Once that was done - then this problem went away.

fyi
Jeff
