Sorry to be away for a few days.  Life intervened.

I select Printer File as Output.  The Save As screen appears, with .txt as the type of file.  Previously, the file went to the printer just fine.  It has been several months since this first started happening and I cannot identify anything that happened in the interim.  Wait!  I installed AOL's Computer checkup at Christmas and then had to spend all day Christmas Eve on the telephone with a technician because the program wiped out all my drivers.  Coincidence?

Yes, Windows XP.  If I use the Text option, I get two different results.  Sometimes, it is "code" on the Notepad.  Other times it is a 1 column, double spaced printout with the information requested.   If I use the pdf, sometimes it works OK.  Other times I get the following message:  Adobe Reader could not open "name of file" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't properly decoded).

I noticed the 3 year to-the-day item, so hope that moving to 7/25 removes the voodoo element.

Hello Karen,

That is it. You have to select "Printer" from the dropdown, not "Printer File". To see "Printer" you have to scroll the dropdown up .

That should do it.

You answered it!  I just didn't notice that there was a choice above "printer file."  Prints fine now...

or would except that early in August, that computer (Windows XP) died.  Now I have a new computer with Windows 7 32 bit.  When I upgraded in 2010, I opted for the JJ special computer take-over.  thus I do not have discs with which to load the program on to the new machine.  What is your advice now?

Hi Bea,

Here are instructions from moving BD from one computer to another.

You install BD from this web site.

Let me know if I can assist further,

Jeff
