Downloaded and attempted to install Clements 6.3.2. Taxonomy works fine, checklist runs through until end and then program locks up. Attempted on 2nd computer-same results. Deleted and redownloaded. Same results with both computers.
Computers using Windows XP with SP2.

Thanks!

Hi

I think you just have to give the computers a long time to process the data - see Jeff's reply in a previous post

Thanks John! Yes, Drew, it appears to hang in the middle of the Clements checklist import - it is a LOT of data! Just please let it run. Depending on your computer speed and memory - the entire import can take 1-4 hours or more.

Thanks,
Jeff

I had Drew's problem, and left frozen BD while I came on line for support. In addition to what he said, I also got the message that Birder's Diary was not responding, when I tried to end BD. After reading the response to Drew's question I returned to BD and found that the checklist import had completed. I was able to complete liscensing per the video instructions. Patience is the answer, but an alert should be added to the video because the import of the checklist appears to end, according to BD slide bar tracking import of the checklist data, while much more time is required for completion of the checklist import.

The technical explanation is that the Flow Control (the progress bar) can measure progress only when the program is active.

When the program passes the updates to the database manager to actually make the updates, the program is not active, so it can no longer measure progress. And the database manager can take a loooong time to make that many updates.

Regards,
Steve

I forgot to mention I also got the "not responding" error that tmaxm mentioned. However, after reloading and letting it sit for approx 3 hrs it did complete. Got 1 error message which I was unable to save but licensing etc worked as per video instructions. Patience is the answer!
Thanks all for the input.
