We have been trying to delete a location, but cannot because of associated sightings. However, when we try to display sightings for the location, there are none listed.

We have discovered, through exporting our sightings, that there is a sighting at the location we're trying to delete, and it is marked with "T" in the "Disable Life List" column. We have a few others like this too. We think these sightings were originally entered using a home-developed taxonomy which was subsequently deleted.

Since we don't have the original taxonomy in BD, we can't view the sightings within BD -- it always requires a taxonomy, and the "disable life list" sightings apparently are not associated with any current taxonomy.

Is there any way to get to these sightings to delete them? If we can delete them, it will clean up the problem with our locations file, and we can re-enter them using a current taxonomy.

Interesting dilema. In short, if you need to get rid of that location:

1. Create a temporary tax list using the Taxonomy Viewer
2. Add the orphaned things to the tax list using the Tax Editor.
3. Then you can pull those sightings up in the View/Edit dialog and delete them.
4. Then you can delete the temporary tax list and the bad location.

Alternatively, you can simply rename the location and reparent it to World\Bad Locations for example. And there it can sit, out of the way.
