Subject: Donloading new software-dragonflies

Jeff,

I was able to download the taxonomy and checklist for above. However, when following the installation video I got lost-couldn't see the pause button on my screen and was not able to scroll to find it. I aborted the process at least twice. I believe I installed the tax list but not sure I had the right buttons for checklist-as I couldn't remember that screen. I no longer have the printed instructions from previous purchases to follow. I am in the middle of my third attempt. On the checklist import screen I unchecked the first analyze data button but left the third one checked. I then clicked on the second from the bottom import button. Never made it to the screen to open the birder's diary file on C drive. What do you sugges I do to complete the installation?

Hello Jean,

Use the settings you see below for importing the Checklist data file. Note: instead of Butterflies taxonomy, choose your dragonflies taxonomy from the dropdown in your case.

Click the Import buton as shown in the screen shot and you should get the Open file window where you will select the dragonfly checklist import file - Odonata-NA-2008-Checklist.csv.

Jeff,

I followed your directions for importing checklists. I got a warning message asking me if I was sure. "Choosing this option will clear all checklist data for any location referenced in the import file before importing the contents of the file. You would use this when you have complete import file." I went ahead.

Checklist results: Added 0 checklist records. Removed 0 checklist results.

I went into BD to add a sighting using the new taxonomy. A window appeared for activation. However, Dragonflies was not on my list as purchased. Does it take time to appear there?

Jeff- Everything is okay-solved all problems in previous post and my test works.

Hi Jean,

Sounds like all is good. You got the "0 records added" message because you had already imported the data.
