Haven't updated several of my personal taxonomies in quite some time (since well before the last couple of updates to BD) so I have just found this issue while working on a few of them tonight and would like some input.

With 'Taxonmy Viewer' open, I selected one of my personal taxonomies and clicked 'Edit' to change its name in the 'Taxonomy List Maintenence' window. (Note: This is the 'Edit' to the right of the taxonomy list drop down. NOT the 'Edit' at the top of the window between 'Delete' and 'Copy'.) However, the program won't allow me to edit the taxonomy's name and shows the Author as "Birder's Diary" rather than me. Also, Authority is "TDB" with a Date of "pre-2004". 

So how do I get my taxonomies back under my control so I can freely edit their titles when necessary.

You are running v3.6 - right? Is it 3.6.49? The latest version?

When you create a user-defined tax list, it sets the author to "Birder's Diary User" and the Date to the current "mm/dd/yyyy". And the Name to what you specify. Otherwise, nothing else is set.

Also, you can at any time edit the Name and other fields. The only time you cannot, is when the tax list was not created by you. So this makes me thing that this tax list was imported and not created by you.

By any chance, did you export this tax list from the system you created it on and import it into another? This may then convert the tax list to non-licensed status and prevent editing of the name.

But, not to worry, easy workaround. Create a new tax list with the name you want. Then use the Copy feature and copy your entire old tax list to the new one. Now you can edit away with the new tax list.
