I have BD 3.6.49 running on Windows XP.  I am trying to get it running on a new Dell running Windows 7.  The only disk I have is BD version 3, which I installed on the new computer.  I then went to the BD web site to download the upgrade to version 6, but after loging on and selecting downloads nothing appeared.  What should I do??

Jeff's on vacation this week, so I'm giving this a whirl - I think I know what the issue is.

If you just clicked on the gray "Downloads" button, you wouldn't have gotten any results - one of the slightly less-than-obvious features on this website. If you log in, then hover over the gray "Downloads" button, you should see a drop-down menu appear, offering the choices "Downloads"  and "Bug Fixes". Move  your mouse down to the"Downloads" option on this secondary menu, and click.

You should get a page which starts (below the menu buttons) with "Instructions" on a red bar, followed by "If you do not see any downloads below....". If you do, scroll down till you see the choices "Network Installation" and "Single File Setup". Jeff almost always recommends the Network Installation when  possible, and I find it works very well.

Alternatively, once you've logged in, if you come back to this forum, click www.birdersdiary.com/DiaryKits/36/BDV36.exe and that will take you directly to the network installation.

Thanks,  I have 3.6.49 downloaded and my database from the old computer moved over to the new one.
