RTE 6
After using BD normally last night, I started this morning again. Programme opened normally, but as soon as I clicked View/List I got RTE 6. I will attach screen shots. I've done the usual restarting and so on, and tried opening by double clicking the data file, but always the same. Add, Observers, Locations, and Trips seem to work normally. What do I need to do?
Alan

Hi Alan,

thanks for the pics - they help alot.

Weird stuff. I will need to get onto your computer to check this out. This is way beyond weird.

Let me know when you are at your computer next.

Jeff

OK Jeff. I'm home now. I'll be available all evening. I'm in the Pacific time zone.

It certainly is weird - came right out of the blue.

Wow Alan. That was crazy. Somehow, the left position of your View/Edit Setup window was set to some extremely large number in the registry (where it remembers the last position of the window when you close it). When trying to reopen that window to that position, it failed because it was too large. Cannot imagine how that happened. But if it happens again, let me know.

I don't believe I have ever seen that before.

Thanks a lot, Jeff. That did it. Wonder how that registry entry got munged.

Now I think about it i remember more of the circumstances. I use an Apple Mighty Mouse, which has a horizontal scroll wheel. On two or three occasions I have inadvertently moved the wheel horizontally and my window disappears. Usually I can scroll it back, but when this happened last night I couldn't, so I closed BD down. Presumably it remembered the erroneous position of the window. I'll be especially careful about that now.

Ahhh. that explains it.

I think I have checks in place to prevent that in the future. Oh no, I have checks in place to prevent that now, but you scrolled it so far left, that the number exceeded the variable's ability to hold it. Wow. Nice job.

Jeff,

Maybe you should start giving gold stars to people who find new creative ways to break the program

In fact it was a very minor touch on the mouse wheel. The window just went flying off the screen, with less than a 1/8 horizontal rotation. The window has disappeared a few times.
