I have a new laptop, and would like help (I subscribed to the service to load software on computer) loading the most current software I have purchased, along with the current data file, on the new computer. Since the new computer is a laptop, we would need to set a time that is convenient for you. If the service I subscribed to has lapsed, I will pay for a new service contract.
Please let me know what the next steps should be. Operating system is Windows 7, 64 bit.

Hi Bob,
The Installation Service is a one-time service. I would be happy to setup BD on your new laptop but it does require purchasing the service again. What you want to do is:
- Perform a backup on your current BD installation and put the backup database onto a removable media (e.g. memory stick, CD, DVD, etc) that you can take to your new laptop.
- Purchase the installation service
- Then we can arrange for a time when I will install BD on your system, install your database and activate your licenses.

I have 2 backups on jump drives. Desktop computer that has Birder's Diary program and backup on it is hardwired to DSL. Laptop that is to receive latest version of Birder's diary and tax list has good wireless link.
Will purchase installation service now.
Will be home most of tomorrow morning, and Tues. morning, but let me know want works best for you.

PS - I had a little difficulty with the on-line store. I did purchase the installation service.
However, whin I checked out the latest tax items is was a little comfused. I am pretty sure I have the latest version of world tax, but when I tried to get the 2009 ama/Clements with sub-species, I got a message that I needed 2008 version, which is not listed anyplace (I have 2007). Does this mean I have to purchase a total package rather than an update for ABA 2009?

Tues (tomorrow) morning will work better for me. Very hectic morning this morning.
You do have the latest Clements tax lsit (new one due out any day now) but you do not have the 2008 ABA tax list - the latest you have are the
- 2007 ABA w/subspecies
- 2006 ABA w/o subspecies
- 2007 AOU
Clements is the only one that is up-to-date. So, yes, to update any of the others you will need to purchase them at full price.

We are on CST - I will have both computers on by 8:00 am Tues., and will ititiate the remote control request. I will be working on the desktop, so can watch to see when you are ready to start.

Jeff - no problem with picking another time. Wed. from 10 am to 3 pm be fine (you pick the time). If that does not work for you Thur. morning would also be OK.

Jeff - I happen to be traveling at this time, but notice that the new BD version you installed shows that I am running a demo version.
When I get home next week I will check to see if I have the appropriate info to allow me to unlock the licensed version. Anything else I have to do?

I have been back home for some time, but had a problem that required me to reload the operating system -- so -- I need to have Birders Diary reloaded rather than just correct the "free download" message.
What time would work for you? I am here for the next 2 hours, or here until 5:00 pm tomorrow, or we can pick another time that is good for you.

So - I need to install BD and update your tax list. However, you purchased the same tax list. No problem, I have put credit in your online store account so that when the correct new one comes out (any day now really) you can purchase it at no cost.
Do you want me to get BD installed today or wait until the new Clements is available?
