I had a hard disk crash and had to buy a new computer. I have BDV3.5.56 that I upgraded from 3.5.

I followed the re-install instructions. I downloaded the setup for BDV35, installed it, clicked on Unlock Now and entered my original License ID for the upgrade. The message said that this was only for upgrade not full install. What do I do now?

When I do get this installed and unlocked, my backup is a copy of the database.mdb. Do I just copy this into the \Birder's Diary\Data subdirectory or will it also be locked?

Your upgrade license was one of those special licenses from way-back.

To activate your license, please follow the instructions here:

Yes - you are correct about the proper recovery of your database. Just copy it into the /data directory and start BD.
