I tried to use the add sightings function and got the Run Time Error 13 message.  I found you answer to this problem and with great trepidation, I entered the regedit and deleted those lines you suggested.  It worked!

My question is why did this problem come up suddenly?  My program has worked very well for several years on Vista.  Is this problem (rte 13) likely to happen again if the future?

I see that I had this problem (Run-Time error 13) back in May of 2010. I can find my post to you asking for help in solving the problem, and I can also find my responce to you saying that I had fixer the problem. But I can't find your advice telling me how to solve the problem.

I'm still using Vista on a Dell inspiron 1525.  The problem occurs when I try to use the ADD function.

Please tell me how to go about correcting the error.

Also, I will be in the market for a new laptop with Windows 7.  Shoud I go for one with 64 bits, or stick with 32bits?

Hi David,

You are soooo close to the answer. It is at the top of this page in the FAQ section.

Go for 64 bits. It poses no problems for BD and has many advantages.

We have not been able to chase down the cause of this error on Win7/Vista. However, v3.7 has code in it to trap for this error and report the problem but allow the user to continue running!
