Just had a trip to E. Europe and had to add Serbia to the Europe locations even though Croatia was there.

After adding Serbia, had to use World as the location setting filter to enter any birds, but I could use Serbia as the record location on each entry.

Hi Laura,

You did the right thing in creating "SERBIA" as a location. And yes, there would be no birds associated with that new location by default. You also, in addition, could have easily done what I did next:

1. Locate a checklist of birds on the web for Serbia. I found and used a list on wikipedia.org.
2. I selected and copied that list into my paste buffer.
3. Opened a new file using NotePad and pasted that list into that file.
4. I then imported that list into BD using the new "Import checklist from free-form text file" feature.
   1. Select File | Import/Export
   2. Select the Checklists TAB
   3. Choose Clements as the taxonomy
   4. check "Analyze data before import"
   5. check "Overwrite Locations"
   6. input "Serbia" into the "Location" field at the bottom.
   7. Click the Import button at the button next to the location field and choose the file created above in #3.

That is it and why I created that free-form input feature.

I, however, have done that for you now and all you need to do is to import the file below using the settings shown in the screen shot.
