I am reinstalling BD36 onto a new hard drive.  My computer uses VISTA.

I managed to reinstall the BD36 program and all of my locations and reports and trips.  However, I cannot reinstall several taxonomies that I purchased over the last four years.  When I try to activate the tax list by inserting the License ID and the eight digit activation code, I receive this message: "The information was not validated by the server.  Please try again or contact Technical Support."  I have received this message for each of these, my most recent, tax lists: Clements-World-2008, ABA-2009, and SACC-2009.  I tried disabling the firewall without any change in the results.

Also, I receive the popup window indicating that I am using a demo version each time I open BD36.  How can I get rid of that?

Thank you.

Den

Hi Den,

Just a quick question.

When attempting to acivate the licenses, are you following the instructions listed at the top of this page in the FAQ section
"Correctly activating your Birder's Diary user license on the Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating system. "

Regards,
Steve

Steve,
I have the problems solved. I had already activated the BD36, so I didn't bother reactivating it using the "right click" technique mentioned above. So now I went through the activation process again using the exact procedures above. BD36 is activated and the "demo" indicator disappeared.

When reinstalling the tax lists, I used the eight digit "password" numbers given to me when I ordered each tax list. This is incorrect. I just now used the normal password that I created for BD and I was able to activate each of the tax lists that I wanted.

I think that I am totally back into good shape (I hope). Thank you.
