Just downloaded this checklist. Realised that my Australia sightings had lost Striated Pardalote, pardalotus striatus. Tried to add it. My sightings report now has it, but while both the Australia and World checklists highlight the bird as having been seen, when I right click on the name no record is shown of the sighting.  There is the same problem when I try the edit function. No record.

Could a repeat download solve the problem?

Regards  Charles

Hello Charles,

A repeat download will not solve anything.

I am not sure how this could be happening. In order to figure out what is going on, I will either need to get onto your system, or, have you do a backup of your database, then ZIP and upload that backup file to me on the Support >> File Upload page on this site.

Then provide me with specific instructions on how to reproduce the problem. Exactly everything you do to reproduce it.

Thanks and let me know,

Jeff

Getting late here. Can you get on my system tomorrow? Perhaps you can suggest a time. We are GMT plus one hour.

HI Charles,

I am GMT -07. So perhaps if you check in tomorrow around 4-6pm your time, I will have just gotten into the office. Post back here then and we will get going.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff
Standing by.
My action was :- click on Add Sightings, choose Checklist entry, Taxonomy Australia & NZ, and search for Striated Pardalote. The bird is highlighted on the list as seen already. When I right click to see the actual sightings there is no information.
The same result happens when I try the View/Edit option, no details of sightings.
However on both my World list and Australia list the sighting is registered. In the case of the Australia list the bird is listed 4 times as I tried repeatedly to record it.
Hope this explains enough.

Hi Charles,

Your account here is setup for email mariecharleslowe@ntlworld.com. If that is not correct, then please update it by clicking on your name in the upper right-hand corner of this page. If that is your email, then some sort of filter is catching your notifications - or you don't have notifications turned on.

As for the Striated Pardalote, that name is associated with two internal BD things:Striated Pardalote and Yellow-tipped Pardalote. The former, in Clements, is a subspecies P. striatus substriatus and the latter is the species.

When presented with the "Ambiguous Name" window, you can inspect which thing you are truly after by clicking on each thing and seeing which tax list they show up in and what their classification is. This would have shown you that "Yellow-tipped Pardalote" was the bird you were after.

Also, in the View/Edit window, select the Check Box to the right of the Name field. This forces all sightings for the selected name and any subspecies under it to show.

Take care,

Jeff

Thanks Jeff
I thought the system knew my new email as it recognises me automatically. Have now updated the email. This explains why I haven't been receiving any new product messages for some time!
