Attached please find checklists for the subject countries. While there are no "official checklists" for either country, I have updated the existing BD checklists based on a comparison against AviBase, H. Raffaele's (et al) 'Birds of the West Indies' (1998), an online checklist for St Lucia (www.birdinginstlucia.org/birdfieldguide/checklist.htm), and range information from the Clements 2010 V6.5 list

To upload these checklists, completely replacing the existing 2 checklists, select File: import/export and then the "checklists" tab on the form that appears (see screenshot below). Set the taxonomy (I used the Clements 2010 V 6.5) and then go to the lower half of form for Imports. Check "Analyse data" and "overwrite locations"

Then click on Import, and you will be prompted for file location / name. Select these and then Import. You will see a screen showing additions and deletions (for review if interested). Click the red check mark (far right) under additions and also under deletions then continue the import (see 2nd screenshot below).

Thanks Dave. Excellent work. Does your checklist include subspecies as well? My assumption is yes.

Surprised that our checklist data had over 200+ things attached to these islands that don't belong there.

Thanks again,

Jeff

Jeff,
Thanks. Yes, my lists includes subspecies. Don't be too concerned with the number of deletions. The actual species level checklists were fairly good.

The clean up was primarily in subspecies. As you know, many of the BD schecklists include all known subspecies for a given species present. The vast majority of the 450+ deletions for St Lucia came from narrowing the subspecies to those actually resident or in the case of migrants, those most likely. Saint Vincent only had 100+ deletions, again primarily erroneous subspecies.

If you're interested in the details on the changes I can email you an excel file showing all changes.

Thanks,

Dave

Thanks Dave. No need for a list of the changes. The Import Analysis window allows me to write those changes to a file and then examine them.

Looks great.

Thanks
