Dear Friends,

GOAL = One comprehensive observations report, for one trip (not separate reports for each class on the same trip).

Still in trial phase here. Trying to produce a Comprehensive Trip Report that includes all sightings regardless of class.

E.g. Aug 29 2009 Chicago River Kayak Trip all birds, reptiles, odonates, etc. seen on that trip. So ... a comprehensive "TRIP" REPORT rather than multiple reports with  just one class of animals each.

Would greatly appreciate your help getting past having to choose just one taxonomic list on these reports.

God bless and good birding, Tadas

Hello Tadas,

There is no way currently in BD to generate a report across different taxonomic lists.

One thing that comes to mind however, and has not been tested, is to create a new taxonomic list using the Tax Viewer (Click on New button), then combine all interested taxonomic lists into one using the COPY feature (after selecting the newly created tax list) in the Tax Viewer. Then you could be able to report on that one new all-encompassing tax list.

I just tested it by combining the ABA 2008 tax list and the NA Tree tax list. That did the trick.

Jeff

Hehe, that's exactly what I do.  I have a master North American taxonomy list that contains birds, mammals, odonates, butterflies, herps, and tiger beetles.  That way I can enter all my day's sightings in one window.  And I bet it does make some great trip reports!

Great to hear also from a user. My tax-list will be very similar + Fishes of the Caribbean, Australia & North America, and some other Insect groups. Geez it's a lot of time building those checklists, but really nice once I am able to use them.

Thanks for the post! - Tadas @ Lifebird
