I am hoping to buy the updated Clements list but, when I buy this and import it how will I know what changes it has made without going through each record individually. Last time Jeff loaded the BD3.6.49 updated list and put the old Wells list and new Clements list on PDF files. As I am now using the subspecies list also this makes for a large list to check if I put it on PDF files or print. Do you get a separate list of the changes once you've updated the new list so that you can check the changes and not have to go through all the records. Is there an easier way to do this or how should I prepare before I purchase the updated list.

Thanks

Jim

Hi Jim,

The import process will load a file (attached to this post also) into your "/Birder's Diary" directory which contains the deletions and additions from the old 6.3.2 version to the 6.4.1 version. It is in text format, but you can also load this into Excel if you like.

The way I prefer to tell folks to do this now (in 3.7 there is a split/tax-compare wizard that makes this easier for you) is to generate and print a life list using the old tax list and one using the new tax list. Print them in taxonomic order. Now go through each page looking for changes and take appropriate action. But the attached file will make this a quicker task.

Let me know if I can assist fruther or if this is unclear.

Jeff
