Jeff,

In the old forums there was a button at the bottom of each post "Next Post" which let user move easily to the next post.
Any chance we can get this button back?

Also, will the checklists that some of us submitted to the Checklist forum be transferred over?

Thanks,

Marc

I have asked the makers of this forum software if that is possible. I will update this thread when I hear back from them. Right now, I have to keep clicking the "Not Read" link and then choose my next unread post. So, I agree, it would be nice.

Also, will the checklists that some of us submitted to the Checklist forum be transferred over?
Thanks for reminding me. Will do soon.

Jeff

"Next Unread" is not available now for this forum software. However, as they asked me to, I have posted to their forums and asked for this feature in the next release.

Whilst waiting for a new release with the "next unread" option, is it possible to set  "newest first"  as default?

John,

I am unclear if you are talking about when/if the next unread gets implemented or now. Or maybe I am missing the point altogether.

Hi Jeff
I mean now! Every time I use the forum the posts are in "oldest first" order and I have to switch to "newest first" or scroll through all the posts.

Hi John,

Thanks for clarifying. I don't see anyway to change the default, but I posted the question to the authors of this software to see if it is possible.

Hi John,

This is possible now.

1. Click on the Profile link
2. Then click on Edit Profile
3. You will then see a place for making this setting.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff
I've done that but have not tested it yet as yours was the last "new post" that I read!

Jeff, this opens a post from a year ago... just to see if there is any hope/progress. To wit, can you add a "not read" button at the bottom of a thread, to enable a reader to move to the list of unread topics without needing to scrool back to the top of the thread? How lazy can one be? Well, not so lazy that I dug back into the old forum for the subject.

Great idea! Of course I would like that also - as probably the biggest user of the forums. I will look into it.

I will bet it is possible, But if it takes me more than 30 minutes to figure out - I will punt.
