Hi David,

You aren't giving me a lot to go on here.

If you are trying to load BD V2 onto a new computer with a new operating system (e.g. XP), then I doubt it will work at all. V2 is over 8 yrs old! Software made for computers back then typically will not run on today's computers/op sys.

Do you have your V2 database or a backup of it?

My recommendation is to upgrade to 3.5 ($139). I will convert your V2 database into 3.5 format for you.

You can purchase, download and install 3.5 all Online at this site.

Let me know if I can assist further.
Jeff

Yes - if you have your V2 database still in tact.

See the instructions on this site at Product Info >> Upgrading from v2.x or v3.0.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi David,

Sorry for the confusion. Hang in there and we will get your upgrade completed.  You are going to be the first real guinea pig for updating from 2.x to 3.6.

Did you download and install v3.5.x or v3.6? Please start BD and choose Help | About from the main menu. This will tell me which version you have installed.

I can do anything with the 2.x program - but I do need your 2.x database. This will be a file named bird_dat.mdb. It will be found, by default, in c:\program files\TBS\data\bird_dat.mdb. If you don't find it there, then look around in c:\program files\TBS\... all the subdirectories under there.

Then ZIP (this is a computer term for compressing a file(s) using ZIP technology). You can find a free version to use at http://www.winzip.com , but if you have Windows XP, you probably already have a version of it and can access it by right-clicking on bird_dat.mdb in your windows Explorer and choosing "Add to Archive..." or "Compress File..." or something like that. Then use the File Upload feature on this web site to upload that file.

If you like, I can get on your system and help you with all of this. Just let me know and you can forget all of the above.

Jeff

Hi David,

Run the DiaryTechSupport program at the bottom of this page. It will give me an invite to join your system. You must be on the internet. I will get onto your system and download the necessary file.

I will be here for another 15 minutes.

Hi David,

I don't see that the file upload of your bird_dat.mdb completed on the web site.

Did you encounter any problems with the upload?
