On the "View Sightings Setup" screen add a checkbox for the User-defined Data section. With the box checked, the criteria in the User-defined Data screen will be used. If not checked, then it will not be used. This would work the same way as the Comments box. The advantage is that the user could set up a complicated criteria for filtering the data and turn it off and on without reentering the criteria.

I originally made this suggestion in 2007 and I still would like this feature added to Birder's Diary.

In v3.7.38 or later. Also added this checkbox to the Sightings Report TAB. Jeff
