I am having a problem importing the World Clements 2008 v6.32 checklist.

The import appears to go fine (right thru to to the last Z entry) but fails to complete itself at the end.  I get an indication that BD is "not responding" which leaves me with no choice but to "end the BD program" and start over.

The import of the World Clements 2008 6.32 taxonomy went fine.

BD program opens fine.  I have successfully entered my license and password for both the program and the taxonomy.

I'm running Vista and have followed the installation directions specific to Vista users.

I've tried doing the import checklist more times than I'd like to admit.  At this point I'm pretty frustrated with the process.

What do I need to do to complete my installation and start using the program?

Please advise.

Barry

Hello Barry,

Sorry for the frustration. You just need to let the import continue to run. It can appear to hang in that state, depending on your computer, for an hour or more. Just let it continue to run until you get the message that it has completed. That is all.

Let me know if I can assist further.

Thanks Jeff.  Waiting got the job done.

Sorry - but mine does the exact same thing.  I left it to "run" all night last night and when I came back this morning, the entire program was still giving me the  "(NOT RESPONDING)" message.

Any suggestions?

Misty

Hi Misty,

Sorry for my delayed response. Have never seen it take longer than a few hours.

What version of Windows?
How much memory do you have?

If it is still stuck, then stop it and restart the process. No damage done. If you have a screen saver (e.g. SETI processor) that runs after you leave the computer it may be competing with the import process and thereby causing it to take longer.

Let me know please.

Jeff
