I've been running BD3.5.56 for years on my old system. I recently got a new computer, & am having trouble getting the program to activate. When I click the 'unlock now' button as described in the support topic here, it asks for information which, after all this time, I frankly don't think I still have! The oldest email I can find from BD is dated 22 Feb. 2007, and I think it's just activating me for the forums or something since none of the information it lists seems to work to activate on my new computer. I'd be happy to send the old email if that helps in any way.

Hello Todd,

If you are on Vista, be sure to start BD (just for license activation) by right-clicking on the desktop BD icon and choosing Run as admin. And for this 3.5 license, please do the following:

  1. After starting BD via the above method - if you are on Vista - , the License Information window should come up. If not, click on Help | License Information.
  2. Then click on Unlock by email (or is it Unlock by Phone) button.
  3. Post back here with the two user codes on that window.
  4. I will reply with the two reg key codes to activate your license.

For information on moving your database to your new system, please see the topic in the Online Users Guide on this site (Support => Online Users Guide) under the How-To section.

Let me know if I can assist further,

Jeff

I am on Windows XP (64 bit).

When I click License Information, it just reopens the 'you are running a demo version of this software' window w/ no user codes listed.

(Moving the database is not a problem - already got it plugged in & running, just need to get the thing properly reactivated on the new box so it won't run out on me after 30 days.)

Hi Todd,

It appears that you have missed step #2 above. After getting the "Demo..." window, click on the Unlock by Phone/Email button.

fyi

Sorry, I wasn't clear that the 2 codes were in that window - thought they were supposed to be in the one before.

Code 1: 280732040
Code 2: 973317

Hi Todd,

No problem - sorry my instructions were vague.

Here are your two reg key codes:

Let me know if I can assist further.
