Hi Jeff

Could you please add GRASSLAND YELLOW FINCH - Sicalis luteola luteola to the Trinidad list. According to the Field Guide to the Birds of Trinidad & Tobago it has been present in flocks of up to 50 since 2004 (although I saw only one).

Hi John,

I sure will. However, you can of course add it yourself (or any other thing to any location). Here are the instructions.

  1. Open the Checklist Editor by clicking on the Checklists toolbar button.
  2. In the Name field under the 'Thing Checklist' on the right hand side; type in "sicalis luteola luteola"
  3. Click the Load button to the right of this name field. This will load all current locations for this thing into the grid below. Note; most folks miss this step and then end up overwriting the list of locations.
  4. In the Location field under that, type in 'Trinidad and Tobago'.
  5. Click the 'Search' (binos) button. If this location is already in the grid, it will scroll it into view and highlight it. You will obviously see that it did not find it.
  6. So, now click the 'Add' (plus sign) button. This will add it to the list of known locations.
  7. Now click the Update button to save your changes. And you are done.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Jeff

Jeff,

***below is for your information - please edit before posting***

Attached please find complete checklists with subspecies for Trinidad and for Tobago.
I have triple checked this against the official checklist for T&T and it is in agreement. For splitting between islands, I have followed the 'Field Guide to the birds of T&T' by M. Kenefick et al. as well as checking it against the T&TRBC report.

For subspecies I have again followed the 'Field Guide to the birds of T&T' by M. Kenefick et al. where they give them. In instances where the Clement's checklist differs I have typically put both. I have noted all discrepancies and sent a copy to M. Kenefick for comment. He has agreed to review but can't get to it for a while. (do you want that marked up copy of Clement’s for yor review?) For Yellow Warbler I will need to go back to this, right now I dropped most all subspecies.

In my program I have deleted the combined T&T checklist and replaced it with these two and all appears to be working properly.

The Official T&T checklist as well as the Records Accepted by the T&TRBC can be found at this link:

I'll try to attach files now.
Regards,
Dave
