Hi Jeff and/or Steve. Happy Holidays. I purchased the 2009 upgrades for ABA and AOU on December 12th, but have been unable to activate them. I entered the License ID and Password from the invoice, but when I follow the instructions to activate them it gives me the following message: "The information entered was not validated by the server. Please try again or contact Technical Support." Since I have tried again several times, I am contacting Technical Support.

Thanks.

Todd

I am just a rookie - trying to help Jeff take a few days off.

Just to confirm - Is the machine where you are trying to activate the licenses connected to the internet?

Regards,
Steve

Hi Steve. Yes, the computer with BD on it is connected to the internet.

Todd:

Try turning off your firewall/virus program before making the attempt.  Don't forget it's off

Hello Al. Tried that, and came up with the same message, so the updates are still not activated. I have not had to turn my firewall/virus programs off when activating updates in the past.

Todd,

I just went through the installation process. In order to open the download file, I used the password (eight numbers) appearing at the bottom of the invoice copy that I sent you by personal mail.

The installation process then unloaded the file and put it in my BD folder as a .csv

In BD, I then opened Help, and selected "License Information". I clicked "Unlock Now", and entered the License ID and Password appearing on the second or third line at the top of your invoice. It successfully licensed the product, and added it to my list of licensed products.

Could you tell me where in the process you are getting the "not validated" message?

Could you verify that you are entering those same codes? They worked for me, so if there is a problem I am at a loss.

I have not worked much with the license software, and I suspect it will have to wait for Jeff's return.

Regards,
Steve

Hi Steve. I opened "Help", selected "License Information", clicked "Unlock Now", entered the License ID and Password and then hit OK. That is when I get the message. I have entered the codes from my original invoice that matched what you sent me in a private e-mail.

Never mind - I just figured it out. Usually you have to use the password, consisting of 8 numbers, provided on the invoice to run the installation, but I just entered my BD password, i.e. the one I just used to log into your site for tech support, and the install went through.

Thanks, and sorry to bother you.

Great! As long as you are happy, we are happy.

Maybe we can meet at Pelee some time.

Steve
