After backing up my sightings in Birder's Diary and replacing my hard drive, reinstalling Windows XP and Birders Diary, I found that I could not restore my sightings from the backup.  The error message reads:  "The backup data base (3.1.4) and the current data base version (3.1.3) do not match.  You may have installed an update that has rendered your backup incompatible or you have reinstalled the software without applying all of the necessary updates."

I reinstalled Birder's Diary from the original CD. So the question is where can I find the update for 3.1.3 to download  so it matches my backup or is there another work-around for this?

You will find the required update, plus the license activation program for v3.0.x at the bottom of the Product Info => Upgrading from 2.x or 3.0 page on this site.

Run the upgrade first, then run the license activation program. Then you should be able to restore your backup.
