I know that the checklist data is now packaged with tax lists.

However, is the latest Checklist Master data available as a standalone download?

Steve

Hi Steve,

The answer is No. The reason is that this data is as costly, if not more costly to maintain and make available to users than the taxonomic data alone. This data is available to each taxonomic list purchased for the region covered by the taxonomic list. When significant updates are made outside of normal taxonomic list updates/releases, I upload a new version of the tax list with updated checklist data available for free to all purchasers of that tax list.

In addition, Steve et al, when I do make major updates, I will generally post them in the checklists forum on this site for users to download and update free.

For example, I was just notified that the Maldives list of birds was greatly incomplete. I searched the web for a complete list, used the free-form checklist import feature (search these forums for "free form checklist import" for instructions) to import and update this location. Then exported and created a new topic in the Checklist forum.

Now this update can be downloaded and updated free by any user on this site.

Jeff
